Cha'alt Kickstarter

Disclosure: I know Venger, I've promoted and reviewed some of his stuff before, and I've worked on two things with him so far. He didn't ask me to do this, though. Well, not directly. He did post something somewhere asking people to spread the word, and though it was awhile ago I'm pretty sure I intended to before I saw that post.

Looks like that Venger guy is at it again, this time with something called Cha'alt, which he describes as, "...an OSR / D&D 5e science-fantasy, eldritch, gonzo, post-apocalyptic campaign world focusing on The Great Pyramid megadungeon", and later as, "...a no-holds barred sword & sorcery desert wasteland Vietnam!"

If you like Venger's stuff then you've certainly already backed it. If you don't like Venger for whatever reason, then there's probably no way to convince you to back it (even if you genuinely think it would be something you'd enjoy). If you don't know who Venger is, I'd check out the Kickstarter link, and see if it entices you. PDF is only $10, and as far as I know Venger has always delivered his stuff.

Someone described it as something like Rifts, which given the description sounds pretty apt. As an added plus since Venger is doing it for the OSR and/or 5th Edition crowd I can't imagine it being nearly as cumbersome rules- and content-wise. He's just over $2k short of the initial $10k goal, with 10 days to go, so he'll probably hit that mark, but if you want extras I'd spread the word, try and get more people looking at it.

Announcements
You can now get a physical copy of Dungeons & Delvers: Black Book in whatever format you want (the PDF is also on sale on DriveThru)! We've also released the first big supplement for it, Appendix D, so pick that up if you want more of everything.

The first issue of The Delver, a magazine featuring fungal-themed content for both players and GMs (including an adventure in which myconids find religion), is available!

Our latest Dungeon World class, The Ranger, is now available.

Dwarven Vault is our sixth 10+ Treasures volume. If you're interested in thirty dwarven magic items (including an eye that lets you shoot lasers) and nearly a dozen new bits of dungeon gear, check it out!

By fan demand, we've mashed all of our 10+ Treasure volumes into one big magic item book, making it cheaper and more convenient to buy in print (which you can now do).

  2. I have never seen Thundarr beyond the intro, because someone else brought it up years ago, but it seems like perfect Gamma World material.

    1. Wow, you've got to see Thundarr the Barbarian! It's awesome on several levels. Imagine the D&D cartoon, but post-apocalyps, and hardly any kids.
