I don't know if this is errata, or just a house rule: Hybrid Artificers gain Arcane Empowerment as shown the the EPG, in addition to their 1/encounter infusion.
What do you think of this? (hope it helps)
Also, the multiclass feat for artificers doesn't give all that much. But, then again, does any feat?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790030420507335953.post-66465462223800643602010-03-03T15:45:35.307-08:002010-03-03T15:45:35.307-08:00I've done two hybrid builds: one worked and on...I've done two hybrid builds: one worked and one didnt. The difference is that with hybrids it seems to be harder to build a character that is mechanically functional (by which I mean hitting that benchmark of competence).

If I want to multiclass, its easy to pick from the MC feats that share the same key stat. For hybrids thats not always an indicator (tactical warlord and artificer are both high Int). You have to look hard at the class features you get, which ones you can get with Hybrid Talent, and what they actually DO.

Finally, if I dont like my current MC I can always swap it out at a level up. You cant do that with hybrids (though kinder DMs might allow some measure of retcon).

As for the slam on Pathfinder? I invite you to read this: http://daegames.blogspot.com/2009/08/pathfinder-review.htmlDavid Guyllhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16299128722345607123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790030420507335953.post-58493300135044317032010-03-03T14:11:30.089-08:002010-03-03T14:11:30.089-08:00Its been quite awhile since I last blogged about h...Its been quite awhile since I last blogged about hybrids and multiclassing, and hopefully no one was holding their breath on this

You KNOW I was holding my breath on this. My breath is now in the process of de-heldification.

t its about an effective patch as Pathfinder was for 3rd Edition.

Kindly elaborate upon this in a future post, as I've been only faintly interested in Pathfinder but am afraid of it because of its connection to 3e, and I'm a stupid person who plays 4e because OMG I like MMOs on paper which is why I don't play 3e.

So basically, Hybrids re-introduce feat-burning and the ability to let shit 'backfire' into your face and require a time commitment to decipher which combos actually work! HYAY! PROGRESS!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
