My problem with fluff content is that its stuff that I've seen time and time again in older issues of Dragon as well as the original Draconomicon (which is why I skimmed the physiology parts). My statements on good dragons being jerks is partially in jest since its preferable to have a monster stat block that will likely see use as opposed to seeing use only when a DM shoehorns the monster into the plot.

Now, I like the book for crunch. Even if I dont specifically use a trap or item or monster, sometimes it provides inspiration for something else I was going to do. I also use dragons in a more "Eberron" approach where I just pick one that fits the story and roll with it, whether its metal plated or colored. A black dragon isnt going to leap out and melt your face off because its a black dragon: its going to do it because I wanted it to.David Guyllhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16299128722345607123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790030420507335953.post-80151027867262894072009-11-26T09:06:48.096-08:002009-11-26T09:06:48.096-08:00Looks like another disappointing WotC product.
Yo...Looks like another disappointing WotC product.

You mentioned in the beginning of the review that this book featured kobolds, but there was no further mention of them. Is there a worthwhile section on kobolds in this book?

You also stated that the artwork was "mostly alright." I must say that I rather dislike the 4e style of artwork. It seems as if they have tried so hard to cram as much "ACTION!!" as possible into every image. So many pictures feature characters leaping through the air that my gaming group has taken to saying that they nerfed gravity in 4e.

Sucks that you sold all your small and medium dragon minis, NewbieDM has a good tutorial on making durable tokens with washers. Should fix your dragon mini needs rather inexpensively.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
