Lair Assault Play By Comment?
Want to go through Lair Assault but cannot due to not having a FLGS (or scheduling issues, or whatever)? Well I am up for doing a play-by-comment type game here (or on another forum that gets recommended and everyone can agree on). Just post your characters and/or suggestions in the comments, email them to me, give me a link to a sheet, or however you want to do it. I will do a five-man group, slots go on a first-post-first-serve basis.
Requirements
- Level 5 characters
- Three magic items (levels 6, 5, and 4)
- 840 gp
- No more than two consumables (level 5 or less), and only one rare item
- Anything goes out of Character Builder/Compendium
minor update: we are actually working on a forum to do this. Feel free to click on the forum tab above and let us know what you think.
ReplyDeleteSounds cool. I was looking to try out the module, but lacked the time to do so on a store. You can sign me up - I'd like to play a Hexblade or, in case of shortage of defenders/leaders, a Battlemind or Shaman.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally down. Dragonborn Knight.
ReplyDeleteWow, nice! I'm looking forward to play this, but it doesn't seem to be on the local stores.
ReplyDeleteI would play a leader (Warlord, looking at the party), or a striker if it's needed
Pablo
This sounds very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI would like to play either a striker (Barbarian or Sorcerer come into mind) or a leader if needed (Bard, Priest?)
I'd love to play too!
ReplyDeleteI could contribute to the group with a Hunter or a Necro/Nethermancer.
I'd love to play, too, and I'm down with filling any role. Ideally we optimize the party for maximum effectiveness.
ReplyDeleteSo we have:
ReplyDeletePerico as a hexblade
Paul as a dragonborn knight
pHonta as some kind of leader
Foly as a striker
Wachinayn as a controller
And Ryan as a misc character (I know I said five, but what the hell)
Just write up your characters and email them to antiochcow@gmail.com and I will setup something on the forum.
Antioch, wait a bit more because if we get 3 more players i can play too and that way we could have 2 groups of 5. I would at least wait until next week and see.
ReplyDeleteOkay, that's a good idea. :-)
ReplyDeleteHowdy! Ryan's recruited me, and I'd love to join the second group. I don't currently have a role preference.
ReplyDeleteMay I recommend Myth-Weavers as the forum to run this game? I have been doing PbP there for over 3 years and it has robust tools for running such games (integrated 4E character sheet and dice roller).
ReplyDeleteWe can do that. Just need two more people.
ReplyDeleteTactical challenge with at least one other known player? Sure thing :)
ReplyDelete@Mythweavers: I second the motion!
If there's a second group forming, I'd like to get in. Can I try Skylla, an Eladrin Spellsinger?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of playing a Battlerager Fighter for the 2nd group. I'll take the defender slot regardless.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so looks like have enough people now.
ReplyDeleteGROUP 1
Perico as a hexblade
Paul as a dragonborn knight
pHonta as some kind of leader
Foly as a striker
Wachinayn as a controller
GROUP 2
Ryan
Joeluma
Atlictoatl
TMcG
Victor (aka Planewalker)
If that's alright, we can setup something on Myth-Weavers.
I'm sorry to do this, especially since I was recruited by another player and the rest of you don't know me, but I just discovered this weekend that my free time for the next month is going to be relatively non-existent. It's probably not a good time for me to be joining an intensive gaming experience like this. I'll endeavor to find a replacement for myself, Antioch.
ReplyDeleteI can still run it with four players (there is a section on balancing it for a party of four), if Group 2 is okay with that.
ReplyDeleteAlso...how do I set things up at Myth-Weavers?
ReplyDeleteI'm cool with four in group 2.
ReplyDeleteI was gonna play a bladesinger (controller/striker), but can take the defender slot if others in the group want to take other slots.
Antioch - is a Shielding Swordmage going to work in a PBEM environment? I'm worried to many Immediate Interrupts will break things.
@TMcG: I figure if a monster tries to violate a mark that you can just be assumed to trigger your shield, or I can just wait for a response from you before continuing with my turn. Its an immediate interrupt, so it would only really affect me at most once per turn, if at all.
ReplyDeleteHere's how you go about setting up a game in MW:
ReplyDelete1. Set up an account.
2. Go to Games and hit the big fat button that says "Start a New Game"
3. Then its a matter of setting up individual threads for the game. At the minimum you really just need two, an in-character (IC) for the game and an out-of-character (OOC) for chit chat and rules discussions.
If you want to see a sample game, I humbly offer up my long running game of 3 years. http://www.myth-weavers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11322
Everyone who wants to play needs to set up a MW account and you can invite them into the game as players. You can set the games up as private games so that Group 1 won't be able to see what's going on with Group 2.
Okay the games are ready. I just need your user names so that I can add you. :-) Sorry this is taking so long.
ReplyDeleteHey! I will have MW registration and character ready this night. Was waiting a bit to see what the rest of the party had so I could optimize my warlord.
ReplyDeleteCheers, and thanks in advance for the hard work
I setup a character build thread so that could get hashed out a lot faster.
ReplyDeleteI'm Phonta, same as here
ReplyDeleteI'm Sandster on MW. Looking forward to it. Joeluma is Joeluma.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay. My username is the same as here: wachinayn.
username: chillburn
ReplyDeleteI got all the invites out except for Foly's and Paul's (if you sent it via email, I couldnt find it). There is a thread for character creation, and once the characters are all made we can FINALLY get this started.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry for the delay! My username is "foly"
