Red Book: Revised Armor Poll
I mentioned before that we're thinking of changing how armor works in Red Book. We have a number of ideas, but wanted to get an idea of what most of you would want us to do with it, if anything at all.
I set up a Google Form with a single question to act as a poll over here: I think this will be easier than trying to run polls on a variety of social media platforms (or even having to link from one social media platform to another, as some don't allow polls in the first place), and then tallying them up.
There's also a Google Doc over here with an explanation of what every option means (recommend you at least skim it, first), as well as an in-depth explanation as to why we're thinking of changing how armor works in case you care about that sort of thing.
You can also comment on the Google Doc if you have any questions or suggestions.
The first issue of The Delver, a magazine featuring fungal-themed content for both players and GMs (including an adventure in which myconids find religion), is available!
Our latest Dungeon World class, The Ranger, is now available.
Dwarven Vault is our sixth 10+ Treasures volume. If you're interested in thirty dwarven magic items (including an eye that lets you shoot lasers) and nearly a dozen new bits of dungeon gear, check it out!
By fan demand, we've mashed all of our 10+ Treasure volumes into one big magic item book, making it cheaper and more convenient to buy in print (which you can now do).

You can now get a physical copy of Dungeons & Delvers: Black Book in whatever format you want (the PDF is also on sale on DriveThru)! We've also released the first big supplement for it, Appendix D, so pick that up if you want more of everything.The first issue of The Delver, a magazine featuring fungal-themed content for both players and GMs (including an adventure in which myconids find religion), is available!

Hey guys and Gals, I noticed that in your Google Doc, the Black Book armor table is missing the "Max Dex +2" for Lamellar, Scale & Chanmail.
ReplyDeleteI only have the Black Book, so I am not sure what the armor table in the Red Book looks like. Is it the same as the Black Book?
@Kurt,
DeleteWhoops! It should have the Max Dex +2 thing. I'll update it in a sec. Thanks for pointing it out!
The poll is to figure out what the Red Book armor table will look like. Red Book is like a Second/Revised/Enhanced Edition of Black Book.
Basically take Black Book, and almost all the stuff in those Appendix D zines, then add even more stuff, and that'll be kind of what Red Book will be. We have a bunch of setting and adventure ideas, but I want to get some opinions and ideas on how to fine tune the game before doing too much more of that.
Ahhh, Okay, I hadn't realized that from the descriptions on OBS.
DeleteSounds cool, though. I'll probably stick with the BB for a while, as I am partial to the d20 mechanic, thank you for that additional info!
@Kurt,
DeleteOh the d20 mechanics will be exactly the same, it's really just more stuff to choose from, more examples, and the like. We're almost done with a Red Book druid preview, which we'll be uploading to the Black Book product page so you guys can see (and even use) a bunch of the new stuff (for free!).
OH great, that sounds wonderful.
DeleteBTW, any chance to get the rough draft of that Giant skull tower? I would like to add that to my adventure for my new players to explore.
@Kurt,
DeleteOh, sure! Just give me a bit to clean up the text, add a few more details, scan maps, etc. Just send an email to antiochcow@gmail.com so I can share the Doc with you when it's ready.
