Dungeons & Delvers: Red Book Cleric Talent Preview
Someone on I think Reddit felt it was strange that we'd start out previewing Red Book content with the druid, and yeah I can get that, so this time we're showing off the talent list for a core class: the cleric (with most of the revised class being added to Black Book soon)!
Fire Domain
Forge Domain
Healing Domain
Knowledge Domain
Protection Domain
Storm Domain
Sun Domain
War Domain
Nearly 100 talents, and that's before you count the ones that don't require specific Domains such as Apotheosis, Celestial Ally, Favored Soul, and Hallow, as well as class features that let you gain temporary access to other Domains and talents (requires prayer and costs extra Favor), and let you spend in excess of your Favor on the condition that you pay them back later (or have your maximum Favor reduced for a period of time).
But we can always add more, so let us know what abilities you'd like to see a general cleric do, as well as Domain-specific stuff you felt was missing before.
Unlike the druid, the cleric hasn't changed much since it's original incarnation: the core concept is a varied priest that provides ranged support, and based on your Domain customization can offer improved offense or defense, or assist in other, non-combat functions (such as crafting and scouting).
An exception is the War Domain, which will now let you add your Magic Bonus to attack and damage rolls (not as good as the fighter's progression, but it's definitely handy), and instead of re-rolls you'll be able to spend Favor in order to add your Lance of Faith damage to weapon attacks for a short duration (probably 1 round or minute per cleric level).
They won't get multiple attacks (and we might phase out the Battle Cleric variant), but instead you'll be able to make one souped-up attack each round, and another talent will give you an increased crit range and let you spend Favor to roll twice and use the higher result (thereby improving the chance of both hitting and critting).
The first issue of The Delver, a magazine featuring fungal-themed content for both players and GMs (including an adventure in which myconids find religion), is available!
Our latest Dungeon World class, The Ranger, is now available.
Dwarven Vault is our sixth 10+ Treasures volume. If you're interested in thirty dwarven magic items (including an eye that lets you shoot lasers) and nearly a dozen new bits of dungeon gear, check it out!
By fan demand, we've mashed all of our 10+ Treasure volumes into one big magic item book, making it cheaper and more convenient to buy in print (which you can now do).
